Jennifer, you might remember the family at the table next to yours at the the Destiny Point Cafe in Kalorama on Sunday. I must admit, I had not heard your story until listening to your father relate it. I spent a little time Googling you when I got home and was disgusted with what I read about your treatment, especially the decision of an obviously biased magistrate. It seems to me the Queensland Government and Government agencies have a lot to answer for, not only for their treatment of you, but of the dingos you were trying to protect. I hope the suffering you have unnecessarily endured on behalf of all of us, will eventually lead to better protection of the indigenous dingos you love so much, and to the detriment of those who persecuted you.

Hi Jennifer, I have seen native dogs in PNG and Indonesia and Sumatra that are so similar in nature to our dingo that it is amazing. Their appearance is very similar but they are smaller / squatter. They watch, they think, they co-inhabit, they survive. I think their future will be fine.

I really enjoyed the book, and look forward to a second reading. How wonderful it would be if such a series about ALL our Aboriginal peoples existed!
I adore the painting featured on the inside cover of Smiley Dancing with Dingoes. I love that you used language. That the essential myths are presented with the word-picture of the past.
When I first read Wild Dog Dreaming, one of the (many) things that struck me was the parallel she drew between the 'treatment' of the Aboriginal people and the 'treatment' of the dingo. Your book expanded on that (to me) truth, and is a significant point in case. Land rights! Without the 'right' to exercise one's traditional relationship with the dingo! To manage one's 'land'! It is enough to make one cry. And you expressed it all well enough to make me do so.
Great work, Jennifer.

Some things in this world are just not right, and this is one of them. I'm surprised you're still fighting after everything that's happened to you. It's such a shame that you had to go through this in order to raise awareness.Keep up the good work, one day someone will listen and things will change.
